![]() I rebooted normally, and using Start > Run I opened Outlook in Safe mode.Then I renamed the pst file to pxx so Outlook would not be able to find it.Using Windows Explorer, I backed up the pst file to another drive.I booted into safe mode, and defragged the disk mine was at 0% defragment, so there was nothing to do.I did the hard disk clean-up, especially emptying all the temp folders I could find manually as well as through disk clean-up.Just for the heck of it, I ran my OEM diagnostics on boot-up.I completely shut down the computer and waited about five minutes. ![]() I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Pavilion a6700y with an AMD Phenom quad-core and 6gb DRAM, PC2400 SLI I'm leaving out all the trial-and-error steps that got me to this. I was having the same problem, here's what it fixed it.
